Founded in October 2007, it's a Sensory World! is the brain-child of a partnership between a parent in search of a perfect program for her own child and a highly dedicated teacher, both of whom had a deep desire to make a difference.
For children with developmental disorders like Autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Sensory Processing disorders and other special needs, multiple therapies are rendered one-on-one by a trained professional to overcome specific challenges. However, once kids are discharged from therapy, it is important they continue maintaining and building upon their skills in a real-life context.
Children may also find it difficult to participate in mainstream
recreational activities as their language and social skills may not be
age-appropriate. It's a Sensory World! is a natural progression from
therapy into the world of real-world activities. Our center is built for
recreational purposes, to supplement multiple therapies, or to
implement a home treatment program set by therapy teams. It is the
perfect place for a child to do their "therapy homework".
